Dedication

To my 50/50 Ethan whom helped to inspire the creation of this push/pull relationship set within this love story, I thank you. I thank you for all of the experiences that lead me to create these characters, to include the good and the bad. Without the heartache and the pain of us, I would have lacked the substance for them. Without our experiences and memories to pull from, they would not exist. Fiction is a false narrative, but portions derive from reality. You pick and choose what to use as your muse and then you fluff it until it compounds. It is not reality, but it is also not completely void of truth either. Should you engage in reading, you may recognize memories and our conversations. You may question the "extra" added, for it was not our reality. This is why I call you 50/50. You were part but not wholly my Ethan. My Dear "Six", May you find love and happiness. Good thoughts and well wishes for you ALWAYS.

To truly love is to risk. To be cautious will hinder ones abilities to explore their fate, weather that be blissful or carnage. You may experience uninhibited passion and ecstasy, or you might be destroyed and left in ruin. To find the former, one must be willing to experience the latter, for without pain, we can not appreciate the true feeling of love and happiness. Risk everything in your soul or remain redundant in your loneliness.

Chaney Reynolds has what most would call a

normal, uneventful life. She is a single, mid 30’s,

white female who owns and operates her own

business. She lives alone, in a decent home on

1 acre, in a rural, country town. She is motivated

and driven. She is a perfectionist and sometimes

an antagonist.

She is trying to make a name for herself, and

to find some type of peace and happiness in a

world full of self doubt, self-loathing, and

sometimes manic depression. All of which stems

from a toxic relationship she shouldn’t be chasing.

Ethan Herra is what she believes beyond all

mental understanding, her first and possibly last

love. He is arrogant and unforgiving. He is

egotistical and withdrawn, cold and heartless,

selfish and self centered. He is a narcissist in

every sense of the word.

She is not oblivious to this, she is just

unremarkably accepting and excusing of his

behavior. She knows she should not indulge

in him, but there is something about him that

is seductive, elusive and alluring; that she can’t

ignore. They have repeated this vicious cycle of

love/hate, push/pull, and accept/reject for over

21 years. It has affected all of her past

relationships with other men, all because of this

love/obsession she has for this psyche

catastrophic man.

She is attempting to live her best life on

anti-depressants and self medicating wine bottles

to erase him, when he shows back up into her life

unexpectedly. It becomes a whirlwind of dark

seductive sexual escapades, undiagnosed

obsession compulsive disorder, brutal emotional

pain, head games, lies and deceit that become

almost de-habilitating for her. Her mind says

RUN, but her heart says stay, and she becomes

at war; not with him, but with herself.
